Connor James wins again, fourth in a row

Posted on: July 30th, 2025

A very sporadic race at Delaware Speedway last night as we embarked on our Full Blast 100! A major accident about half way through the race and an impending rain forecast ended with us squeezing in 51 laps under caution. Connor James in his Two Speed Motorsports #33, got one for Rob, winning here at Delaware Speedway and is now tied for second for all time wins in the Ontario Sportsman Series with veteran driver Shawn McGlynn.

In second, you have runner up this year Brendan Patrick in the #02. Brendan ran a clean race and avoided accidents and contact throughout the night. Being able to go bumper to bumper with Connor James, Brendan got a second place finish and retains his position in the championship race.

In third place, Derek McCullough nails a podium finish, a striking contrast to how our Patriot 100 went at Sauble Speedway. Derek McCullough just put in a new engine in his #38 and barely had any testing done before coming to Delaware last night. Being able to avoid the carnage, he maintained a tight hold on third against Todd Sheppard and finished the race relatively unscathed.

The Brimstone Games Racing team unfortunately had one of their cars wrecked in the major accident involving guest racer Amber Balcaen #27 and veteran drivers Doug Cathcart #48 and Chad McGlynn #8. However, that didn’t stop Todd Sheppard in the #47 from taking forth last night. The #47 car is currently in fifth for overall points this season, we’ll see where they find themselves in overall points after this event. In a surprising turn of events, V8 stock driver Kaden Patrick #86 takes fifth place, his best finish yet in the series! Kaden fought for fifth against the likes of Kevin Trevellin and Brad Robinson, a great finish for the Patrick Brothers Racing team.

Some highlights of the night!
– Cooper Aubertin, having run V8’s at Delaware for many years, got second in pole during qualifying and Cooper even led a lap of the Full Blast 100! A very big victory for an OSS rookie, we’re excited to see what’s in store for Cooper for the rest of 25′.

Once again thank you to Blast Floor Coating, Shelby Signs & Graphics, and Kilton Inc. for helping us to put on the show and the staff at Delaware Speedway for working with us to get the race in before the rain.

We return to the Varneyceum at Full Throttle Motor Speedway on July 26th, we’ll see you there!
