Connor James dominates winning his second race of the year

Posted on: July 30th, 2025

A bumpy race for sure last night at Sunset Speedway! Our Seconds to Glory 100 ended with Connor James #33 winning his second race of the year in his Two Speed Motorsports car. James truly cleaned house last night with getting first in pole, leading the most laps, and being the only car to lead a lap throughout the entire race!?!

The #02 of Brendan Patrick has had the most consistent run so far in 2025 with three consecutive second place finishes! Brendan started in fifth place last night and actually had to restart at the back after pitting for an adjustment. He climbed his way back to the front and had a hard battle for second place against Brad Robinson.

Starting in second, Brad Robinson maintained his spot in second place throughout most of the night pushing Connor James hard to try and nab that first place position. The many restarts last night tightened the field up and once Brendan Patrick made his way back to the front, Brad and Brendan battled for second place all the way up to turn 4 on checkered flag. Brad finished in a respectable third place position.

The McGlynn boys we’re at it again as they fought throughout the night to get to the leaders. Shawn Mcglynn #9 landed a fourth place finish with his brother Chad McGlynn #8 sliding into fifth.

Some highlights of the night!
– Amber Balcaen, a Canadian-American race car driver, part time driver in the ARCA Menards Series and a driver for the Nitro Motorsports race team ran last night in the #27 for Brimstone Games Racing! Unfortunately her car was involved in an incident on the first lap of our feature race and could not be put back in due to mechanical issues however, we are honored to have Amber Balcaen Racing feature in our series and hope she returns soon!

Once again thank you to Somal Watches Clocks Parts & Tools Supply, 24/7 Athletic Kulture, N2Y Tire & Performance, and RBC Direct Investing Mapleview for putting on a great show! We’d also like to thank the staff at Sunset Speedway for making sure everything ran accordingly yesterday evening!

Get your swim suits on as we’re off to Sauble Beach for our next event! We’ll see you all on June 28th!!
