McGlynn executes a flawless restart, holds on to capture the win

What an incredible night of racing at Flamboro Speedway for the Ontario Sportsman Series Iron Man 100, presented by Akal Steel, and the opening round of the EcoTek Triple Track Challenge presented by Canada Welding Supply!
From the drop of the green flag, fans were treated to nonstop action with drivers battling hard throughout the field. The intensity was briefly halted just past the halfway mark when a medical emergency in the pits brought out a red flag. Our thoughts are with everyone involved, and we thank the emergency personnel for their quick response.
The lengthy stoppage cooled down tires and equipment, creating a whole new race when the field returned to action. Once the green flag waved again, it became clear that four drivers had separated themselves from the rest of the pack. Connor James and Jade Franklin of Two Speed Motorsports put on an incredible show, trading positions lap after lap. Right behind them was Shawn Mcglynn in the Jackson #9 machine, while Todd Sheppard and the Brimstone Games Racing team remained firmly in contention.
McGlynn eventually found a way to the front and looked poised to drive away with the victory. However, one final twist remained as a caution flew for the Flat Broke Racing #80 machine, which was sidelined with a charging issue. With the field reset, there were questions about whether who would be able to challenge for the lead, but McGlynn executed a flawless restart and held on to capture the win.
A special shoutout goes to Ricky Williger in the #08, who completed his first race with the Ontario Sportsman Series. We look forward to seeing more from him as the season progresses. It was also fantastic to see Nathaniel Greenaway back behind the wheel and competing once again.
Thank you to the staff at Flamboro Speedway for helping put on another great show, and a huge thank you to Akal Steel for coming out and supporting the series. Your support helps make nights like this possible.
The Ontario Sportsman Series now heads north to Sauble Speedway for Race #4 of the 2026 season. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter of this season has in store!
