What a momentous race last night at Full throttle speedway at varney! Connor James #33, wins his first race of the year in his Two Speed Motorsports car wrapped in the late great Robert James’ old #4 theme. An emotional win indeed for the James Family and a remarkable start to Connor James’ year.
Brendan Patrick #02, led the race for most of the night! As lapped traffic mounted in the turns, he was eventually passed by the #33. Winning 2nd in the pole and gaining points throughout the night, Brendan is still in contention for the championship with consecutive 2nd place finishes!
The pole winner Brad Robinson maintained his positioning at the front of the pack holding his 3rd place spot against racers like Chad and Shawn McGlynn. The Robinson Racing team having a decent start at Delaware Speedway seemed to have finally nailed the settings for the #44. Keep an eye on Brad Robinson this year as he’s going to be eyeing a 1st place finish at our next race at Sunset.
In 4th and 5th, it seemed that the McGlynn boys were having a brotherly battle to squeeze into the top 5 however, after running into mechanical issues in the #9, Shawn Mcglynn pulled off the track and Kevin Trevellin #19 landed a 5th place finish following Chad McGlynn #8 in 4th!
Some highlights of the night!
– Kyle Istead, an OSS rookie who’s never been to Full Throttle, completed the entire 100 lap race unscathed!
– Full Throttle Motor Speedway is known for its tight layout, where contact is almost inevitable—but against all odds, not a single caution flag flew all night!
Once again thank you to Farlow’s Home Hardware and West Grey Auto Parts for helping to put on a great show. We’d also like to thank the staff at Full Throttle Motor Speedway and track owner Paul Trepanier for making sure everything ran smoothly last night!
We’re off to Sunset Speedway for our next race event! We’ll see you all on June 14th!
