McGLynn Wins Season Opener, Closing in on all-time Win Record

Posted on: May 23rd, 2025

An eventful night at Delaware Speedway yesterday! Shawn Mcglynn, a returning legend to the series wins it with his #18 Ford. Shawn proves that he is still the WIN-ningest racer currently in the Ontario Sportsman Series and is close to beating long time racer Steve Robblee’s win record!

Starting 6th in qualifying, Brendan Patrick made his way to the front and put the heat on the leaders all night, he brought home a 2nd place finish. Keep your eyes on the #02 this season, Brendan Patrick and the Patrick Brothers Racing team are coming for that championship!

Leading most of the night, we have the 2024 co-champ Connor James and his #33 Two Speed Motorsports car pushing Shawn McGlynn hard for that lead spot. After a restart tightened up the field again, Connor fell back and battled Brendan Patrick to land a respectable 3rd place finish. Connor was fast last night and we don’t expect that to change this season.

Derek McCullough got a 4th place finish and newcomer to the series Lane Zardo landed a 5th place spot in this race.

Some highlights to mention include the OSS rookies Kyle Istead and Cooper Aubertin turning their first laps in this series, while not at the front, they did a great job and showed they can box with the best of em last night.

Once again thank you to Derek’s Mowers’n Blowers – Service and Repairs for helping to put on a great show last night and the Delaware Speedway officials for ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the entire race event.

With the first race of the season in the books, we venture on over to Full Throttle Speedway for our next race event! 🏁We’ll see you there!
